Executive Function development
What are executive function skills? |
"Many experts refer to executive functions as the command and control center of the brain, underlying the critically important role this "central office" plays in directing an otherwise chaotic environment" (as cited in https://www.amle.org/BrowsebyTopic/WhatsNew/WNDet/TabId/270/ArtMID/888/ArticleID/1120/Building-Successful-Habits-for-Middle-School.aspx). Other definitions suggest that the term "executive function" is used to refer to processes that help students connect past experiences with present actions. These skills are required when planning, organizing, and pay attention to details and trying to remember several things at one time.
